Kerry grew up in New Jersey bike riding, swimming, diving, water skiing, skating, hiking, camping, horseback riding and playing music. By age 16 she had sustained a broken wrist, several head and neck injuries and a dozen sprained ankles. 1974 found her at Cal State L.A. as a Psych and Music major, discovering yoga and training hunters and jumpers.

She spent the 80’s and 90’s as a professional guitar and bass player. Her struggle with constant neck, back and shoulder pain led her to massage school in 1986. She began practicing massage and taught yoga in a physical therapy facility while persuing her music career, exploring movement with avante guard leaders Vance Bonner and Yamuna Zake, and vinyasa with Ganga White, Judith Lasater & Shiva Rea.  She also took up running and bicycling.

A motorcycle accident in 1989 left her with multiple injuries.  Although a demoralizing setback, it also offered a profound opportunity to deepen her experience of the healing process.

In the late 80’s her passion for the high country often found her backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, solo or with her dogs.  She completed the Sierra Club Wilderness Training Course and has summitted Mt. Whitney three times, once with an undiagnosed case of Epstein Barr; a lesson in pacing.  In 1996 she officiated the wedding of her backpacking partners on the summit.  The same year she graduated from Musician’s Institute with a degree in Guitar. Shortly after Kerry was severely rear ended, re-injuring a previously ruptured disc in her neck and starting the healing/recovery process. Again.

Finding that healthy movement was the missing component for healing herself and her massage clients, Kerry completed Pilates training with Marie Jose Blom in 2003. Her passion for movement as a healing modality became so absorbing
that at age 50 she retired

her music career, devoting herself full time to healing through movement and posture.  She completed Gyrotonic training with Lisa Marie Goodwin in 2005 and Gyrokensis in 2006 and 2008.  She began teaching in 2003 and opened her own studio in Valley Glen in 2006, bringing the best Pilates, Gyrotonic and her experience of healing processes have to offer.

She lives in Valley Glen with two dogs, one cat, assorted fish and a garden. Her latest obsession is ocean kayaking.
